Update!  The Dutch federation has announced the European Championships team:

Noël van Klaveren
Dyonnailys Supriana
Eythora Thorsdottir
Sanne Wevers

Yesterday was the second Dutch women qualification match for the European Championships 2015 in Montpellier. As in the first qualification, Eythora Thorsdittor won the All-Around.

Thorsdottir scored a massive 57.300 AA after a good competition without any big mistakes. She exhibited some beautifully performed and steady routines for Europeans. The only problems today were her pirouettes on floor and a big wobble after her Y-turn on beam. Although her 15.150 on beam seemed a bit overrated, she is definitely someone to keep an eye on for a spot in the beam final in Montpellier. She controls her landings very well and even when she misses a connection you won’t notice it most of the time. Today, she reached again the three selection criteria on the AA, BB and FX.

In second place was Dyonaillys Supriana with an AA score of 51. 817. Supriana is a powerful gymnast to watch, who came short today on her last tumbling pass (double tuck) on floor after over rotating it several times in warm-ups. She also fell on her twist salto on beam, but besides those two big mistakes had a good competition. She is a rough diamond which needs to be polished, but seems more and more confident every meet.

Noël van Klaveren came in third position with 49.683 after a bad competition. She started really strong on beam scoring a 14.000, but then missed her double layout on floor due to a landing outside the lines with both feet and fell on the two other series. On vault she normally has no problems with her DTY, but had to touch the mat with her hands today. Her second vault, a new one for her, was lovely, which is great because it is a new one and seems consistent after hitting it two weeks in a row now. Even with the fall, she met the selection criteria on vault again. On her last event, bars, she felt twice, but her routine looked really strong and promising in the warm-ups.

Isa Maassen, the only other AA gymnast after Reina Beltman, had to withdraw from the competition after a bad landing on her whip- double back on floor in the warm-ups. She placed fourth (48.750) in the AA and first on vault with a nice DTY scoring a 14.600.  She had a good bars, but needs some cleaning up here and unfortunately messed up on both beam and floor. But again she landed her double pike dismount from beam lovely after missing it several times in the warm-ups. She also looked more confident in a lot of her movements compared to last week’s competition. The way she is building up her D-scores seems promising for the future.

Sanne Wevers did bars and beam in the warm-ups but decided to only compete beam in the competition. On beam she had a lovely routine with great pirouetting skills as we are used to from her. She fell on her triple pirouette but besides that she suffered no big mistakes. Like Thorsdottir, she also seemed a bit over scored scoring a 14.250, which means she met the selection criteria. To get selected based on this beam score the procedure stands that a gymnast needs a second event. Without competition bars today, but did competing it last week, I am not sure if the federation will acknowledge her as a gymnast who met the selection criteria.

The federation will announce the team next Tuesday. Locks for the team should be Thorsdottir and van Klaveren based on the fact they met the selection criteria. And Wevers should be a lock if the federation counts her beam score today combined with bars routine from last week. A long wait begins for Supriana and Maassen, who both reached no selection criteria today or last week, but could be given the last spot, which is one to be chosen by the federation without having the selection criteria met.  Both could get selected for experience only; based on the E-score Supriana should be the one to get the ticket, but based on the D-score Maassen should be chosen.
And if the injury of Beltman is not that bad, she could also be the one to fill in the last spot of the EC team. We just have to wait and find out Tuesday!
