Photographer Myriam Cawston traveled to Liverpool for the 2016 British Championships. She shared with TCG her pictures, as well as a few quotes from the heroes of the competition:
Becky Downie on whether she plans on doing vault in Rio: “I’m definitely considering it. I had a small injury coming into these championships and it was a bit up in the air as to whether I was going to do beam – so I was really pleased I was able to compete that and compete it so well. It’s something that we’re working towards but we’ll have to wait and see how the body holds up over the next few months”
Kelly Simm: “My recovery is going really well. I didn’t expect to be here a couple of weeks ago, so I’m just happy to be able to do all four pieces today and there’s definitely room for improvement and a lot more to go in – but I’m really happy at how it went. ”
Amy Tinkler: “I’m really happy with my floor routine. Yesterday I didn’t have a great beam routine so I’m really happy to come back today and do a good job on floor. On whether she’s planning an Amanar for Rio “We’ll just see how training goes really”
