The International Elite session of the 2017 WOGA Classic was held Saturday night in Frisno, Texas. Featuring junior and senior gymnasts from Russia, New Zealand, Mexico, Japan, Hungary, China, Canada, and Belgium, the competition also included gymnasts from various clubs in the USA, including WOGA, the host club.
In the senior division, Kiko Kuwajima of Japan had the most successful meet, placing first all-around with a total score of 53.200 and first on vault with a 14.550. Coming in second all-around was Hungary’s Zsofia Kovacs, posting a total score of 53.100 with her highest score coming in on uneven bars (14.200), and tying for third with a total score of 52.650 were Japan’s Nagi Kajita and Natsumi Hanashima. Kajita also placed first on floor exercise with a 13.400.
On bars, China’s Jiaqi Lyu placed the competition high with a 14.300, and on balance beam, USA and WOGA’s own Luisa Blanco came in first with a 14.250.
In the junior division, Russia’s Angelina Simakova had the most successful meet, placing first all-around with a 53.650, first on balance beam with a 13.500, and first on floor exercise with a 13.050. Placing second all-around was USA and WOGA’s Audrey Davis with a 53.200. She also placed first on uneven bars with a 13.700. And coming in third all-around was Russia’s Ksenia Klimenko with a total score of 51.300.
USA’s Jaylene Gilstrap placed first on vault with a 13.900.
