Elisabeth Seitz did a beautiful set with Maloney to Ricna, Pike Jaeger, Downie to Pak, van Leeuwen full in dismount 14.600/6.2

Nina Derwael had another beautiful execution of her super-difficult set  Nabieva, Derwael-Fenton to Ezhova to ChowII to Bharwarj, van Leeuwen, toe-on 1/1 to full in.  15.2/6.5.

Jonna’s Adlerteg’s routine unfortunately ended in heartbreak: Shang to Pak, Shaposhnikova to Pak 1/1 with execution issues. Maloney to clear hip 1/1 to Tkachev and stopped after at the blind change dismounted with double layout. 13.166/6.2

Balance beam:

Simone Biles opened the beam final: triple wolf turn, leaps connection, Barani big stumble, back handspring -loso-loso, switch leap, switch half with  big break, punch front with another issue, aerial walkover to split jump, tuck full in dismount 13.6/6.2 .

Ellie Black could not top Simone’s score: switch leap mount- switch leap, switch 1/2, double turn with wobble, layout to two feet, side somi, double pike  13.00/4.8 .

Zhang Jin had a terrible time on beam falling twice, at the layout to two feet and sheep jump 11.5/5.3.

Nina Derwael managed to stay on but she had a very wobbly routine for her: layout stepout mount, back handspring – layout to two feet, side somi with big wobble 14.466/5.4.

Anne -Marie Padurariu had a great routine with only small form issues but no big wobbles; triple wolf turn, switch ring leap, side aerial to layout stepout – layout stepout (tiny wobble), switch half, aerial walkover to jump to back handspring double pike with bent knees and flexed feet 14.100/6.1

Kara Eaker was off right from the mount, then she had very wobbly routine which is understandable under the circumstances. Y turn, front aerial, side aerial, two layout stepout, switch half to Korbut 2 1/2 dismount 12.833/6.2.

Sanne Wevers mounted with a good back handspring but then had a major wobble on the double L turn. On side aerial to back handspring came off direction and fell. 12.66/5.3

Liu Tingting was last up and she managed to hit her best routine in a while: front handspring front tuck a bit low, switch leap to ring leap, switch ring to back handspring, front aerial to split ring jump to Korbut, split leap to side aerial to jump, double full dismount 14.533.6.3.

So the gold medal went to Tingting from China, silver to Canada and Anne-Marie Padurariu and bronze to Simone Biles (USA).

Floor:

Melanie de Jesus dos Santos started the floor final with a beautiful routine. Such a shame about landing OOB on her first pass – full in layout, she continued with full in tuck, front layout to double tuck, double pike dismount 13.433/8.22 (0.3 penalty).

Flavia Saraiva also managed a beautiful routine: whip to full in with a step out of bounds, double layout, 1 1/2 to front 1/1, double pike with hop forward 13.766/5.5 (-0.1 penalty).

Brooklyn Moors opened with a very low double front, almost sat it; continued with a Podkopayeva also a little low, nice artistic section with fantastic leaps, 2 1/2 to front layout full (short) 13.066/5.4.

Mai Murakami pulled off a routine with good tumbling but some issues with the artistic elements: quad turn (stumbled out), nice Silivas followed by a solid double layout, 2 1/2 to front 1/1, double pike 13.866/5.7.

Angelina Melnikova managed to hit her best routine in Doha, but it was not enough: full twisting double layout stuck, double layout almost stuck, wolf turn, with a wobble but managed to finish it, double tuck with great landing, Memmel turn, double pike with step forward 14.833/5.7

Simone Biles had yet another fantastic routine: Moors (steps OOB), Biles to stag, well controlled, front full to tuck full in, Silivas (14.933/6.7 , -0.3 penalty).

Morgan Hurd opened with a beautiful Silivas with a hop back, double layout also bouncing back, but one of the best in the air. Megan showed great dance and interpretation, really took it to the next level for this final. Her final passes were front layout to front full and double pike. 13.933/5.5

Lilia Akhaimova was last up but her chances were lost after a stumble off the very first pass, a double layout full. She was also short on double layout; did an Arabian double front with a step, tuck full in stuck to dismount 13.366/5.8. Shame, it could have been a great threat  for the medals without the two bad landings to open.

Simone won a 4th gold medal in Doha on floor, followed on the podium by Morgan Hurd (US) rewarded for her beautiful execution and dance, while Mai Murakami (Japan) was 3rd thanks to her impressive tumbling.
